| This setting basically sets the amount of JPEG compression that is performed on the image. For the same resolution (say 1600x1200) you will end up with 3 dramatically different sizes of picture files for each setting. The difference comes down to when you want to crop out a small part of the picture... You can expand the dimensions of superfine and still get a decent picture. Expand "normal" JPEG compressed picture file (optimized for web / email) and you'll get a grainy picture. Just experiment around a bit and you'll see the difference.
